The one-ounce Official Alaska State Medallion Proof should be the first medallion in any Alaska collection. It is made of .999 fine silver mined in the State of Alaska. Each medallion is rim stamped with an individual serial number and production is limited to demand through 2011. They come encased in an air tight holder with a velvet presentation box and information card. A Bald Eagle/Mt. Denali information sheet comes with each medallion.

Chad Harpel of Eagle River Alaska submitted the winning drawing. The medallion is a soaring bald eagle with Mt. Denali in the background. It should be in production as the State Medallion by early November.

The eagle and the rim edge are layered with a thin 24k plate. Like the plain one ounce silver pieces, these medallions are individually serial numbered and are limited in edition. The 2011 Sets are now in production however the image to the left is the 2010 Bear Set - just for reference. The Add to Cart button below WILL PUT A 2011 PROOF SET IN YOUR CART. We will put up the 2011 set photo soon. The Silver Proof Set consists of a 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce, 1/10 and a 1/20 ounce, all proof, in a handsome velvet case enabling viewing of both sides of the medallions. The book set comes with an information/authenticity card signed by the Governor of the State.
